Digital video footage of a sunset is accompanied by recorded sounds in the atmosphere captured with a VLF (very low frequency) radio.

The glow of sunset shines through the design of this early 20th century radio. A Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio receiver was used to record the sounds of electromagnetic radio signals traveling through the ionosphere (one of the layers of Earth’s atmosphere) at the same time the video footage was collected.
